SHOOTING IN SOUTH GEORGIA EARLY FEBRUARY LEFT ONE MAN DEAD FOR NO REASON OTHER THAN RACIAL DISCRIMINATION

25-year-old Ahmaud Arbery from Brunswick Georgia was out jogging February 23rd, 2020 when two white men ( Father and Son) Gregory (64) and Travis (34) McMichael approached Arbery in their pick up truck with guns. A video captured on someone's cell phone shows the McMichael's pick up truck in the middle os the road waiting on Arbery as he jogged. One man was seen in the back of the pickup truck with the front driver door opened. The other man looked as if he was hiding in front of the truck as Arbery proceeded to jog around it. Shortly after is where 25-year-old Ahmaud Arbery is shot dead with what was later confirmed by Travis McMichael's gun.

Gregory McMichael who is a former local police officer who worked at the local DA's office told police that there had been several break-ins in the neighborhood and the man that he "viewed" as the suspect was "running down the street", so he and his son grabbed their guns and went after him..... He also stated in the report that Arbery began to violently attack his son Travis.... Even though what was captured in the video clearly shows Arbery defending himself from strangers who were armed and who had made the point to approach him as he took his routinely morning jog.

The state of Georgia has a statue that allows citizens to arrest but the motive to do a citizen arrest on Ahmaud Arbery as he jogged has really been unclear. Arbery family Attorney, Lee Merritt stated in his interview with Good Morning America that to perform a citizen arrest you have to personally see/ observe the person committing the crime. It can't be that you believe that someone has committed a crime in the area or in the recent past to give you grounds as of taking the law into your own hands. Statements that were given to the Glynn County Police Department by the shooter and his father clearly did not fall under the right for the citizen arrest despite what the district attorney stated in a letter that under Georgia's law the shooters were acting legally. That district attorney has since then removed himself from the case after he failed to disclose that his family had close ties with the McMichael's.

Today the Arbery family and their family Attorney Lee Merritt aired on Good Morning America in a sit-down interview. Attorney Lee Merritt called for a full investigation and arrest of both McMichaels.

Hours later Georgia authorities announced that both Gregory and Travis McMichael were charged with murder and aggravated assault. Both were booked into Glynn County Jail. A protest organized by the local chapter of the NAACP is scheduled for Friday morning, on what would have been Ahmaud Arbery 26th birthday, outside the courthouse in Brunswick, Ga. The chapter's vice president Gerald Griggs stated the rally will continue as planned as he stated, " We are going to send a message, and the message is this: We will not allow unarmed African-Americans to be killed in this state with impunity. We will demand punishment within the fullest extent of the law."

CelebTea By3rdEye would like to send our grievance to the Arbery family on the loss of their son in this tragic situation. May you get the justice that you truly deserve. We would like to send Peace, Love, and Blessings to everyone out there. We will catch yall in the next article.
